Michael J. Abeyta born on September 6th, 1954, passed away unexpectedly on June 23rd, 2026, at the age of 71.

Michael was a devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend whose greatest joy in life was his family. He cherished every moment he spent with his daughters and grandchildren, creating memories that they will hold close forever. An avid pool player, Michael enjoyed the game for many years and was proud to have won several trophies. He loved watching the Denver Broncos and WWE. He will be remembered for his love, his laughter and the kindness he shared with those around him.

He is survived by his daughters Genevieve Abeyta (Denver) Michelle (Tomas) Ortiz, Amanda Abeyta (Steven Mares) all from Trinidad Colorado, cherished grandchildren, Jada Abeyta, April Mares, Keane Abeyta, Kylie Mares and Thomas Ortiz Jr., his siblings, Suzanne DeBaca, Kathy Chavez, Pierre Chavez, Margo Abeyta, Bruce Abeyta, Valerie Abeyta-Garcia, Allen Abeyta and Manuel Abeyta, his stepmother Margaret Abeyta, and several nieces and nephews

Preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him Bernardo and Albodinia Torres, His mother Eileen Chavez and his father Lloyd Abeyta, Brother Charlie Abeyta, Sister Shirley Padilla and Son Ben Bargas.

While his presence will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Services will be held on Friday, July 24th, 2026, beginning with the Rosary at 12:30pm, followed by the Funeral Service at 1:00pm at Comi Funeral Home Chapel.
