Eva Eleanor Bowman, 68, of Trinidad, Colorado, passed away on April 26, 2026. She was born on July 30, 1957, to Jose and Mary (Nora) Chavez, and spent her entire life in the community she loved.

Eva was the devoted wife of Gary Bowman, with whom she shared 52 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and unwavering commitment.

She was a proud and loving mother to her three children: Cheryl (Dan) Nuschy, Pete (Misty) Bowman, and Jackie (Dan) Robinson. Her greatest joy in life was being a grandmother to her eight cherished grandchildren: Caitlyn (“her Dolly”) Cameron, Jonathon, Isaiah, Elijah, Emma, Brody, Briele, and Liam. She loved each of them deeply and found her greatest happiness in the time spent with her family.

Eva graduated from Trinidad State Junior College with her Associate of Arts degree. Over the years, she held many jobs, but nothing meant more to her than caring for her grandchildren and being present for her family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jose Chavez; her brother, Joe Chavez; her mother- and father-in-law, Pete and Theresa Bowman; and her sister-in-law, Sharon Saiz.

She is survived by her loving mother, Nora Chavez; her siblings, Anthony (Barbara) Chavez, Janet Gutierrez, Bernadette Chavez, and Nora (Rafael) Chavez-Perez, Albert (Arlene) Bowman, Brian (Charlotte) Bowman, as well as many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, along with many extended family members, loved ones, and many friends.

Eva will be remembered for her kind heart, her strength, and her unwavering devotion to her family. To her, nothing mattered more than the people she loved, and she made sure they always knew it.

Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love she gave so freely will live on in all who knew her.

Rosary will be Monday, May 4, 2026, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 9:30am followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:00am. Burial at Trinidad Catholic Cemetery to follow.
