Joesph William Coberly, lifelong Trinidad resident passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026. He had just celebrated his 80th birthday.
Joe was born on February 04, 1946, in Trinidad, CO to Joseph and Mary (O'Block). The second child of 7 Joe had many stories of the adventures growing up in such a big family.
On February 03, 1973, Joe was united in marriage to Wendy Owens. Through that marriage two children would be born.
Joe attended Trinidad schools graduating from Trinidad High School in 1955. Joe followed in his father’s footsteps and was a welder by trade all his life. Graduating with a certificate in welding from Trinidad State Junior College and using that skill for decades both in the Allen mine, as well as for the City of Trinidad. Joe could always be found fixing or tinkering with something.
Preceding Joe in death are his parents, as well as brother Don and sister Pauly.
Left to cherish his memory is wife Wendy. Sons Ryan Coberly, and Keith (Beth) Coberly. Grandchildren Ryanna and Eric Coberly and grand pups Magnus, Duke, Gus and Stella. Joe was always so fond of his four-legged friends and took care of them so well. Joe is also survived by brothers Ronnie, Bill, and Ed, and his sister Zita.
Memorial service will be held at the Regent Pueblo, 100 San Carlos Rd. on Saturday, February 21st, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Private burial will take place at a later date.
