Victor Nick Becco
March 24, 1937 – January 25, 2026
Victor “Vic” Becco, 88, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, in Trinidad, Colorado.
Vic
was, at his core, an educator. Teaching was not just his profession but
his calling. Over a long and distinguished career, he served his
communities as a teacher, vice principal, high school principal, and
superintendent. In every role, he led with quiet strength, fairness, and
deep respect for students and colleagues alike. He believed in
people—especially young people—and spent his life helping them see their
own potential.
Above
all else, Vic was devoted to his family. He was a loving husband to his
wife of 25 years, Rebecca “Becky” Becco. Together they shared a life of
love and adventure, traveling to all 50 states and collecting memories
along the way. Their partnership was marked by affection, laughter, and a
shared love of exploring.
Vic
was a proud and supportive father to his children: Vicki (Steve) Ropp,
Greg (Sherry) Becco, and Jeff (Jo Ellen) Becco, and a caring stepfather
to Barry (Melissa) Tregellas and Belinda (Kent) Brunelli. He took great
joy in staying connected to his family and celebrating their lives and
accomplishments.
Nothing
brought him more happiness than being “Papa Vic” to his grandchildren:
Justin Becco, Brooke Becco, Blake Becco, Brady Becco, Blaire Webber, and
Brett Webber. He delighted in each of them and cherished the time he
spent watching them grow.
Vic’s
legacy lives in the many classrooms he guided, the communities he
strengthened, and the family he loved so deeply. He will be missed
beyond measure.
In
keeping with his wishes, no services will be held. Memorial
contributions may be made to Trinidad District 1 campaign for a new
sports field honoring Vic’s lifelong dedication to education. Click here to donate.
