Frank Buddy Leon Paine

   Frank Leon Paine aka “Buddy” finished his life's adventure on January 21, 2026 at
home surrounded by his family. 

     He began this adventure August 10, 1948 joining his parents John and Carrie
Paine.  Buddy grew up with his brothers working with their dad at the  “Auto
Salvage” where he became a master mechanic by trade.  He and Donna were wed
on June 18,  1968 and Buddy soon left upon joining the U.S Army 5th Infantry
where he completed a Tour of Duty in Vietnam receiving a Purple Heart and a
Bronze Star. 

     Upon his return he and Donna raised their three children, 2 daughters and a son.
Buddy had a gypsy soul and moved numerous times between Colorado and Green River Utah. He loved camping, hunting and looking for arrowheads making the best of whatever adventure it was.  He was known to his family for telling tall tales about a green screaming yellow puma or that he was born on the planet Zorksees.  He and Donna spent his later years remodeling their home and spending time with their grandkids.

     Preceding Buddy in death were his son Billy Paine, grandson Levi DuRan, parents John and Carrie Paine, in laws Jim and Bertha Heistuman, Bill and Pearline Davies, life long friends Andy Martinez, Dan Duran, Don Brazeal, and Felix Chavez.

     Buddy is survived by  his wife of 57 years Donna, daughters Amiee (Matt) DuRan, Heidi (Mark) Cappellucci, grandchildren M. Kris (Brooke) DuRan, Haven (Logan) Chavez, Patrick (Hilary) DuRan, Tyler Cappellucci, Cody Paine, great grandchildren Levi, Owen, Kyah and Ripley, Brothers Donald Paine, Kenny (Venice) Paine, Brad (Debbie) Paine, In-laws Linda Hill, Cindy (Grant) Judd, Rob (Renee) Davies, Mike (Melinda) Davies, his aunt Charlotte (Ronnie) Givigliano as well as special friends Stragget, Wayne Baca, Pat Montoya, Ryan Chavez and Matt Mrace.

     Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren Matthew (Kris), Patrick (Gub), Haven, Tyler and Cody (Codeman).

    The family ask all to come and celebrate Buddy’s life with us at Las Animas County Fairgrounds Round Up Park June 13, 2026 at 1 pm.
