Vangie Genoveva Martinez

Vangie was born in Branson, CO on October 22, 1927 to the parents of mother
Eliserda Trujillo and father Juan Crespin. Vangie passed away January 7th 2026
she lived to be 98 yrs old. Vangie was a homemaker her whole life and became a
widow and never remarried. She loved her children, grandchildren, great grand-
children and great-great grandchildren she had 5 generations of grandkids. She
loved to play cards (solitary) she loved her Spanish music and loved to dance . She
was a remarkable mom and a strong women .

She is survived by her daughters Julia Martinez, Mary Bueno (Louie),sons John and

Joe Martinez Her grandchildren Valerie Van Slyke(Bill) , Brian Bueno, Fidel Bueno
(Janet) , Tanya Orung(Daryl), Kayla Bueno (Chris), Michael Martinez (Tabitha), Ray
Garcia (Christy) Stephanie Garcia, Curtis Flores (Nichole), Tommy Flores (Laura),
and Monica Flores. Vangie has 15 Grandchildren 30great grandchildren and 18 great -great  grandchildren .

Vangie is proceeded in death by her parents Eliserda and Juan, her sons Richard Martinez, Joseph Martinez as an infant ,daughter Margaret Martinez, daughter-in-law Jenny Martinez & Jason Flores , her brother Edward and Rose Crespin, Edward and Teresa Martinez and ,Crusita Crespin .

Vangie was loved by her whole family, special friends in the nursing home , neighbors and church friends . She left such a legacy of love , dedication and laughter, an example for all us to follow . We will miss her so much and we will see her in heaven one day .

Service will be held on January 19th Monday at 10 a.m. at the First Christian Church.

The family would like to thank the nursing home and all the staff here in Trinidad for taking good care of our beloved mother and grandmother. We would also like to thank Kitsy from Comi’s funeral home for the support and guidance through our difficult loss. Thanks to pastor Nelson for the church facilities and services , thank you to all her special friends and family for the prayers , cards, flowers and support yous have shown to our families we truly appreciate it .
