Esther Pugnetti, 84, of Denver, CO died in the comfort of her home on December

31, 2025.

Esther was born in Aguilar, CO in 1941 to Earl and Grace Thompson. Esther

married Angelo Pugnetti in 1961 and shared their life together for 57 years. Esther

and Angelo were proud to raise their son, Rodney Pugnetti, in Aguilar watching him

play basketball throughout his youth and college years. Their family took pride as

avid hunters and spending time with beloved friends and family.

Eventually, grandchildren brought Esther and Angelo to Denver, CO. Esther loved

spending time with her family. She could always be seen keeping score of her grandson’s baseball games and enjoying her granddaughter’s gymnastic meets. Over the years, Esther made some great friends working at Boyer’s Coffee (where she also loved sneaking the kids chocolate whipped cream). A day didn’t go by that she wasn’t lovingly cooking a meal and feeding her family. Her angel food cakes and unique brownie recipes will continue on in her legacy.

Esther was preceded in death by her beloved husband Angelo Pugnetti; her parents Grace and Earl Thompson, her cherished sister, Rita Thompson; nephew Earl Micek, and sister-in-law, Rose Payne (Frank).

Esther is survived by her loving family: son Rodney Pugnetti (Terrilyn) of Denver; grandchildren Andy Pugnetti of Denver and Breann Pugnetti (James) of Seattle, WA; sister Sandra Micek; brother-in law Charles Pugnetti; nephews Duane Micek (Heidi), Ed Pugnetti (Shannah), and Franklin Payne; Niece Sherri Payne, as well as several grandnieces and nephews.
