Richard E. Morgan

Richard E. Morgan, 98, of Pueblo, Colorado, passed away on December 21, 2025.
Born on June 12, 1927, in Trinidad, Colorado, Richard proudly served in the United
States Air Force for three years, stationed in Manila, where he worked as a
mechanic on P-51 and P-47 fighter airplanes. He was a recipient of the Philippine
Independence Ribbon and the World War II Victory Medal.
Following his military service, Richard worked as a cement finisher on projects
including the Trinidad Colorado Dam and Walsenburg Bridges. Upon retirement,
he enjoyed crafting in his garage and tending to his yard. In recent years, he loved
eating ice cream cones, going for long rides, dancing, and dining out. Most of all, he
cherished the time he spent with his family.
Richard was married twice and is preceded in death by his wives, Teotiste A.
Morgan
and Shirley Morgan, as well as his siblings, William (Billy) Morgan,
Consuelo Morgan, Philip (Gerald) Morgan, and Charlotte M. Romero.
He
is survived by his daughter, Imelda M. Valdez, his son-in-law, Gerald,
his step-sons, Frank Maestas and Vidal Padilla; his grandchildren,
Celeste A. Oden (Nathan) and Desiree A. Lucero (Javier Lopez); his
great-grandchildren, Brigida M. Oden, Jimmy E. Oden, and Liliana M.
Lucero; his great-great-grandchildren, Nate Oden and Nash Oden; and
numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Active pallbearers
are Gerald Valdez, Nathan Oden, Jimmy Oden, White-Eagle Perry, Richard
(Ricky) Perry, and William (Bill) Perry.
Visitation will be held
on January 2, 2026, at Comi Funeral Home from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m.,
followed by a Rosary at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 12:30 p.m., with
a funeral Mass to follow. Burial will be at Trinidad Catholic Cemetery
following the Mass.
