Corina S. Montoya was called to final resting place on Sunday 12/21/25. Born in

North Garcia Plaza, Trinidad Colorado on July 11, 1938 to Daniel & Erminia

Velarde. She was raised in Troy Colorado and attended 1st through 3rd grade in the

one room school there. She attended school in Kim Colorado until 1952 when her

family moved to Hoehne Colorado where she graduated from Hoehne High School

in 1957. On August 9 1958 she married Frank J Montoya and remained married to

him until his death on September 1, 2012.
Proceeded in death by her parents, Daniel & Erminia Velarde, Brother Arthur

Velarde, Sister & Brother in Law Celeniz & Ronald Dixon, Brother in Law & Sister in

Law Sam & Anita Montoya and Grandson Raymond Lucero.
Survived by Son Michael(Adele) Montoya Trinidad, CO, Daughter Sonia Hagan

Trinidad CO, Grandchildren Amanda(Scott) Lauger Trinidad CO, Jeremiah Lucero,

Pamela(Cisco) Passarelli Las Vegas NV, Caleb(Rachelle) Lucero Kansas City KS, Daniel Montoya Aurora CO. Great Grandchildren AJ Montoya-Lauger Trinidad CO, Bianca(Jordan) Cooley Boncarbo CO, DeAngelo Montoya Aurora CO, Rayleigh Passarelli Teo Passarelli Asher Passarelli Las Vegas NV, Audrinna Lucero Victor Lucero Kansas City KS. Great Great Granddaughter Avianna Cooley Boncarbo CO. Brothers Phil Velarde, Bernie(Linda) Velarde, Danny(Anita) Velarde, Sister in Law Lisa Velarde. Several very loved nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 40 years and dedicated all those years to helping people. She was an avid Rockies & Broncos fan and even enjoyed one last Rockies game in person in the spring of 2025. She loved to visit the casinos in New Mexico where she said she believed in contributing to the states economy. Her hobbies included; crocheting, sewing, ceramics, reading and cooking for her family. Her home for may years was the focal gathering place for family and friends where the coffee pot was always full and the conversation was plenty.
At her request, cremation with no services .
